London photoshoots run across the centre — Westminster and the bridge with Big Ben behind you, Tower Bridge from the south bank, and the pastel terraces of Notting Hill. Westminster Bridge at sunrise is empty and the light comes straight up the Thames. Tower Bridge works from Shad Thames and the Butler's Wharf steps. Notting Hill's Lancaster Road and the Portobello terraces give you colour on grey days, and London has plenty of those. Spring and early autumn give the longest usable light.
