This session runs between Santa Cruz, the painted old quarter below the castle, and the harbour front — the mosaic promenade of the Explanada, the marina, and Postiguet beach at the end of it. Santa Cruz is steep, residential and quiet early, with flowerpots and whitewashed walls on every turn. The Explanada's wave-pattern paving is the shot people recognise. Morning and the two hours before sunset are the ones to book. Between June and September midday is hot and the promenade is busy.
