Paris in December does the obvious thing beautifully. The Champ de Mars is quiet, the tower is lit from dusk, and if you get a cold clear morning the light across the Trocadéro is the best of the year. Your photographer meets you at Le Coq, a couple of minutes from the Champ de Mars, and works the gardens, the bridge and the river bank from there. Both options are built for the season rather than being an ordinary shoot in a coat. Rudolph is 30 minutes and 20 photographs, with sparklers and a Christmas hat to play with. Santa is an hour and 50 photographs, and includes a drink afterwards — mulled wine or hot chocolate, your choice. Paris days are short in December. The hour before sunset is the one everybody wants, so book it early. Your edited photographs arrive within 48 hours.
