The Old Town markets, the tree and the lights

Prague's Christmas markets fill the Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square from late November, and they are the reason the city books out in December. Wooden stalls, the tree in front of the Týn Church, mulled wine, and the whole square lit after dark. Your photographer meets you on Pařížská, a two-minute walk from the Old Town Square, and works the markets, the square and the lanes around it. The light is the point here. The markets look their best from mid-afternoon as the sun drops, and for the hour after the lights come on. December afternoons in Prague are short, so the good window is narrow and it is worth booking early in the day rather than late. Your edited photographs arrive within 48 hours.
