The one Venice photograph you cannot take from dry land

A gondola is the one thing in Venice that photographs exactly the way people imagine it. You sit low, the water is right there, and the buildings rise on both sides — a viewpoint you cannot get any other way. Your photographer meets you at Caffè Florian in Piazza San Marco and walks you to the mooring. The route runs through the quiet side canals before coming out on the Grand Canal, which is the part everyone wants and the part that photographs hardest in the middle of the day. Three options. The base session is ninety minutes with the gondola and your photographer, and fifty edited photographs. Adding video gives you a short edited film alongside the stills, which is what most people wish they had afterwards. The top option adds a romantic set-up in the boat — flowers and the arrangement handled before you arrive, so you step into it rather than watching it being built. Gondolas seat up to five comfortably, so this works for couples, a proposal, or a small family. Late afternoon is the best light on the water. Ask when you book and we will aim for it.
